“I’m never late, I’ve never been late. I’ve never missed a day.”
‘Damned’ is a rousing piece of theatre in which four characters use what little they have in a constant struggle for power. In a world cut off from reality, the only tool at their disposal is language, and this tool, when wielded correctly, can quickly become a weapon. Within this web of manipulation and lies, someone has to be telling the truth.
It is easy to praise, as it is the best piece of new absurdist theatre I have ever had the pleasure to see. Not just in the fringe but anywhere.
“A superlative piece of theatre”
